The Part-Time Legislative Aide provides support to the External Affairs team by helping track legislation, research policy topics, and assist with day-to-day tasks that keep the department organized and informed across local, state, and federal government. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in learning about health policy, advocacy, and how government decisions affect public health programs and services.

  • Support tracking of local, state, and federal legislative activity related to health care and public policy.
  • Conduct basic research on policy topics and summarize findings.
  • Help prepare materials such as reports, briefings, event planning, scheduling, and presentations.
  • Assist with scheduling, note-taking, and organizing files or databases.
  • Support coordination of meetings, events, and outreach activities.
  • Help draft briefing documents, summaries, or internal communications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Government Affairs team.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) in public policy, political science, public health, communications, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organization, attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
  • Interest in learning about government processes and public service.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
