MAJOR FUNCTION:
The Command Center Manager is responsible for overseeing all communication operations, communication equipment, technology services and personnel of their assigned shift.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Advanced Degree Associates or greater in EMS, business or leadership preferred.
- 5years of experience in an active communications center which dispatches Emergency Medical Services/Transport required.
- 3years of experience providing prehospital emergency medical care preferred.
- Experience in dynamic resource deployment preferred.
- Experience with CAD software and reporting preferred.
Certifications/ Licensure:
- National Emergency Institute National Basic 911 required.
- National Emergency Communication Institute Emergency Medical Dispatch.
- National Emergency Communication Institute Emergency Medical Dispatch Instructor.
- Incident Command System 100, 200, 300, 700, 800.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Uses logic and reasoning to analyze, understand, and evaluate complex situations.
- Identifies the strengths and weaknesses of alternative approaches or solutions to a situation.
- Exercises appropriate judgment in establishing priorities.
- Considers the relative costs and benefits of potential actions.
- Develops and maintains cooperative and professional relationships with employees at all levels, representatives from various departments, and outside agencies.
- Effectively responds to and resolves complex inquiries and disputes.
- Must be capable of demonstrating competence in the use of computer equipment and Microsoft Office.
