Purpose of Position
Provide leadership, direction and hands-on involvement for the Receiving area of the facility including Material Handlers. Drive tactical execution to optimize Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost through the effective use of Daily Management, Problem Solving and Kaizen. Provide mentoring and guidance to hourly associates. Act as a Champion of continuous improvement using the Vontier Business System (VBS) methodologies by initiating/planning Kaizens to drive operational improvements. Able to effectively formulate and execute countermeasures to address shortcomings to Key Performance Indicator (KPI’s) targets by using the problem-solving process.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage hourly associates performing the following duties daily: time and attendance collection/reporting; vacation planning; ordering of supplies; and production planning.
• Respond to Safety incidents and injuries with an extreme sense of urgency including immediately putting in place containment actions, driving to root cause using the investigation process and implementing countermeasures.
• Able to effectively meet operational performance targets while simultaneously working within the guidelines of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) , Company and EH&S policies.
• Actively support the Company and the CBA by understanding supervisory and management obligations.
• Work closely with People & Culture Business Partners to resolve grievances and administer disciplinary action for Company and EH&S policy violations, and to address Productivity and Quality issues.
• Ensure correct identification and system transaction for all receiving processes to avoid Receiving errors.
• Ensure correct stocking process to ensure a fix super marketing location and correct Kanban execution to return cards to full position.
• Ensure the correct cells replenishment method through plan for every part, point of usage and keep the two bins systems updated.
• Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming shipments: Studies packing lists, proof of delivery, invoices, purchase orders, and other records to determine priorities, work assignments, and receiving methods required to meet receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of receiving procedures, routes, and rates.
• Oversee incoming receiving activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality.
• Inspect received deliveries to ensure compliance with receiving specifications.
• Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair.
• Directs movement of parts from receiving platform to storage and work areas.
• Contribute to Import Control Policy to ensure compliance to federal regulations.
• Compiles records of missing material.
• May assist workers in shipping and receiving activities.
• Other duties as assigned by Management.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
• 2 to 3 years of leadership experience required, including front line supervision preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree or 4 to 6 years of relevant and related experience in a manufacturing industry required.
• Knowledge of and experience in the Toyota Production System, Vontier Business System or other Continuous Improvement System.
• Solid data analysis and reporting skills
• Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment preferred.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office products required, strong competency in the use of Microsoft Office products preferred.
• Basic understanding of financial concepts.
• Relevant experience in materials-related functions such as procurement and planning preferred
