We’re looking for an enthusiastic Inside Sales Consultant to help drive sales across our Consumer Brands portfolio within the UK Trade & DIY Business Unit. You’ll manage a portfolio of distributors, retailers, and trade merchants across a variety of channels — including direct, wholesale, and indirect routes to market.
This is a customer-facing role, primarily conducted via phone and email, with occasional field-based support for customer events.
Key responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers across multiple channels
- Drive sales growth for our brands and products
- Support customer events when required
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure excellent service delivery
What we’re looking for:
- A proactive communicator with a passion for sales
- Experience in B2B environments or trade channels is an advantage
- Experience with Salesforce and enjoy sales!
- Comfortable working in a hybrid setup (3 days in-office, 2 days remote)

Responsibilities
Sales Development
- Achieve sales and distribution targets across independent retail, wholesale, and trade sectors
- Drive key sales initiatives and new product launches
- Monitor product mix, pricing, and margin performance
- Use business data to analyse account performance and identify growth opportunities
Customer Relationship Management
- Grow assigned customer portfolio through proactive engagement via phone, email, and Teams
- Collaborate with internal teams and align with National/Key Account Managers
- Partner remotely with Wholesaler Reps to support indirect sales
- Deliver training and support at customer events and trade shows when required
Sales Process & Tools
- Follow the Sherwin-Williams Sales Cycle for effective planning and follow-up
- Use Salesforce.com to manage call planning and customer records
- Provide category insights and report market trends and competitor activity
General Responsibilities
- Maintain company property and records securely
- Adhere to company policies, including Health & Safety
- Complete required training modules and attend meetings or events as needed
- Represent the company positively to internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (business-related degree preferred)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a sales role with individual targets
- Proven success in meeting/exceeding sales goals
- Strong commercial awareness, negotiation, and communication skills
- Able to build remote customer relationships and manage priorities independently
- Positive, proactive, and adaptable approach
- Experience in B2B sales and DIY/trade sectors is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- CRM experience (preferably Salesforce) and intermediate Excel skills preferred
- Full, clean driving license required
