We are seeking a talented and experienced Lead Mainframe Developer to join our dynamic team. As a Lead Mainframe Developer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and maintenance of our mainframe applications, ensuring they meet both current demands and future enhancements. This position requires a deep understanding of mainframe technology and the ability to lead a team of developers in delivering high-quality solutions. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including project managers, business analysts, and other technical teams, to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical specifications. Your leadership will extend not only to managing development activities but also to mentoring junior developers, providing guidance on best practices, and ensuring that our coding standards are upheld. Your expertise will be pivotal in optimizing performance and enhancing the reliability of our mainframe systems.
In this role, you will
- Application design and development activities
- Development and support of Payments Platform applications, either SaaS or hosted.
- Hands-on development experience.
- Troubleshooting production issues as L3 support.
- Analyze and evaluate technical aspects of projects, enhancements, fixes, and infrastructure changes to determine impact on interfacing systems.
- Work with Vendors, internal IT Infrastructure Teams, and Business partners on the remediation of audit findings and vulnerabilities to ensure adhere to security controls and standards.
- Support the Business and Operations Teams during UAT testing for the Vendor's Production releases.
Required skills: what you need to be considered
- Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience and readiness to manage a sizeable group or team of IT professionals responsible for development/solutions design and/or system enhancements, new releases, or project deliverables with increasing complexity of moderate to broad scope.
- Expert knowledge of business, technology standards, managing people and projects.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience programming with COBOL, IMS, JCL, TSO, MVS.
- Experience with MQ and Kafka is needed.
- Practical experience designing and developing web-services using modern practices/techniques including Domain-Driven Design, Event Storming, Event Sourcing and CQRS.
- Experience with development tools and frameworks such as Endevor, CA-7, Maven, Jenkins, Gradle, Git, and Nexus.
- Database experience using DB2, IMS, SQL Server, and Oracle.
Preferred skills: what will help you stand out
- Cloud Platform experience (GCP/Azure/AWS).
- Experience with Java, React.js, React-Native, Redux, Angular.
- Volante Product knowledge.
- GitHub Workflows/Actions.
- Payment's knowledge for SWIFT, LYNX.
