Cedar Rapids Operations Leader at PACKER FASTENER AND SUPPLY INC

Packer Fastener is opening a new location in Cedar Rapids, Iowa! We are an industrial supplier with a work hard play hard atmosphere. 

You will be the only team member in the operations department at this location until we establish ourselves and grow in this new territory. So we are looking for someone who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty and oversee the day to day workflow in our warehouse from the time product arrives to when it is shipped, ensuring a smooth functioning warehouse and warehouse processes. This role operations and is not a senior-level leadership position.

Primary duties include: 

• Receiving
• Inventory Put Away
• Order Picking
• Customer deliveries (using a company vehicle, including driving a flatbed)
• Shipping

Qualified candidates must be able to pass a DOT Physical/obtain a Fed Med Card to drive the flatbed. 

Primary Duties:

• Manages daily workload and productivity of warehouse operations including Receiving, Order Fulfillment, Packing, and Shipping. 
• Accurately fills customer orders following established operational processes
• Releases, prioritizes, and determines any special requirements needed for FC orders
• Understands and comprehends a variety of operational procedures, some area specific, to provide hands-on assistance where needed
• Aids in inventory restocking and shipping areas to ensure seamless distribution center processes
• Safely operates all warehouse equipment and obeys all safety rules
• Helps maintain accurate distribution center inventory quantity and quality while pulling product; restocks order fulfillment supplies as needed
• Follows all housekeeping procedures; maintains clean and organized warehouse
• Performs other related duties as requested

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of operations experience
• Must have the ability to quickly learn specific software to successfully fulfill order fulfillment expectations
• Must make safety a priority.
• Must be a highly detailed individual with a focus on accuracy.
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be a well-organized team player who can relate to employees at all levels of an organization.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Must be able to obtain coverage through company's auto insurance carrier according to company Driver Safety Policy. 
• A well-organized self-starter
• Must possess strong leadership skills and have ability to manage stress levels of a busy operation
• Must be able to routinely handle and lift object(s) up to 50 pounds.
• Must have basic math skills – addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
