Purpose of Development Associate Role:

The Development Associate manages the donor database, gift tracking, and acknowledgment processes in Salesforce.  The Development Associate assists the Development team with board/donor communication, committee meetings, fundraising events, and general administration to fulfill the goals of the department.  The Development Associate is part of NDI New Mexico’s administrative staff.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

Management of Development Database Functions

  • Manages gift tracking, acknowledging, and reconciliation processes in Salesforce.
  • Maintains the integrity of the portfolio system.
  • Coordinates logistics for appeals and donor communications
  • Administers the donor database
  • Act as Salesforce resource for Advancement staff
  • Works with the Director of Advancement, to establish consistent organization-wide procedures for administrative support functions in Advancement
  • Runs reports, pulls lists, and manages the vetting process for the needs of the Development Team
  • Supports the Director of Advancement and administrative departmental functions including filing, photocopying, preparing reports
  • Participates in the Salesforce Committee meetings

 

Communication to Stakeholders

  • Provides support for select committees, including sending meeting notices and agendas, taking and distributing minutes
  • Coordinates Advancement updates to COF for biweekly board communications.
  • Participates in, and project manages as required, cross-departmental projects

 

Coordination and Support of Events

  • Prepare for, attend, coordinate, and follow-up all donor functions including Founders’ Circle, Gala, etc.
  • Supports logistical aspects for night of events including table and theater seating, meal preferences, etc.
  • Coordinates with the box office to ticket Board and VIPs for performances at The Dance Barns and The Hiland.
  • Manages Gala registration for The Dance Barns and The Hiland

 

Other

  • Assists in office management for the Development department
  • Other duties as required

 

Working Conditions, Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Functions performed in a variety of environments including: NDI New Mexico offices, schools, residency sites, and other locations
  • Requires reliable transportation and reimbursable in-state travel to NDI New Mexico locations, participating schools, residency sites, and community events 
  • Requires weekend and evening hours
  • May be required to lift up to 15 lbs.
  • May be required to navigate stairs

Qualifications


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

 

Job Specific Requirements:

  • College degree
  • Requires 1-3 years in job related duties including non-profit donor communications and database experience (Salesforce experience preferable)
  • Excellent computer skills with MS Word, Excel, Salesforce, Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
