Job Summary:

Work Schedule: Mon - Fri, 8:30am to 4:30pm
Serves as the lead librarian and provides leadership and operational expertise for the John Moritz Library at Nebraska Methodist College. Ensures excellence in library services and resources that support the teaching, learning, and research needs of students, faculty, and staff across all programs. Responsible for reference, instruction, interlibrary loan, collection management, outreach, and administrative oversight of all library operations.
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions
Instruction & Reference (40%)
· Lead development and delivery of information literacy instruction (in-person and online).
· Provide reference support at point of need, by appointment, or virtually.
· Collaborate with faculty to integrate library resources into courses.
· Develop and maintain subject guides and digital tools (e.g., LibGuides).
· Manage library website.
Outreach & Service (25%)
· Represent the library at orientations and campus events.
· Promote student engagement with library services and resources.
· Provide training and support to faculty and staff on research and information access.
Management & Administration (15%)
· Lead day-to-day operations, communications and assessment of library services.
· Supervise library student workers.
· Maintain and report usage and service statistics.
· Serve as library liaison for college-wide initiatives and planning.
Resource Management (15%)
· Oversee acquisitions, serials, cataloging, and collection development.
· Manage licensed databases and troubleshoot access issues.
· Coordinate interlibrary loan services using OCLC WorldShare and DOCLINE.
· Ensure compliance with copyright and licensing agreements.
Professional Development & Other Responsibilities (5%)
· Maintain knowledge of current and emerging trends in academic libraries.
· Participate in College-wide initiatives and committee work.
· Engage in professional development organizations and activities.
· Perform projects and other duties as assigned.

Education
- Master's degree in Library and/or Information science
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in an academic or health sciences library setting.
- Experience in library instruction, reference services, and interlibrary loan.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
License/Certifications

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Demonstrated Leadership, organizational and management skills
- Strong service orientation and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with library technologies, including OCLC WorldShare, DOCLINE, and electronic database management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and learning technologies (LibGuides, LMS integration, etc.)
- Knowledge of copyright and fair use in academic environments
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment
