Your role and responsibilities 

As part of our Highways team, you’ll play a key role in shaping and managing forward programmes for carriageway, footway, road marking, and signage maintenance across Suffolk. You’ll support the delivery of a safe and well-maintained highway network by analysing condition data, prioritising works, and identifying the most effective maintenance solutions. Working closely with internal teams and supply chain partners, you’ll help ensure statutory compliance, respond to public enquiries, and contribute to asset condition assessments. Your input will be vital in coordinating efficient delivery, monitoring progress, and keeping stakeholders informed.

You will need

  • good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint and Insight software. 

  • strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage and interpret large volumes of data 

  • knowledge of carriageways, road markings, and sign maintenance standards and techniques 

  • understanding of relevant legislation, including the Highways Act and New Roads and Street Works Act 

  • excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong relationships 

  • ability to work independently, organise activities, and make decisions within guidelines.
