Role Overview
As our Logistics Consultant, you’ll assess our current logistics and supply chain processes in the Pacific Northwest region, identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and design & implement solutions that drive operational excellence and cost savings. You’ll be the go-to person for turning complex logistics challenges into clear, actionable plans.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze existing logistics operations including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and order fulfillment to identify opportunities for improvement.
Develop and present logistics strategies and improvement plans tailored to business goals, focusing on efficiency, scalability, and cost reduction.
Collaborate with internal teams (operations, procurement, finance) and external partners (vendors, carriers, suppliers) to implement process changes.
Monitor performance metrics (KPIs) before and after implementing changes and adjust strategies as necessary.
Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging logistics technologies, and regulatory requirements (especially relevant given Seattle’s regional and state logistics landscape).
Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on new processes and systems.
Occasionally travel to client sites, warehouses or distribution centers in the region (as needed).
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
Minimum of ~3-5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations – consulting experience a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to interpret data and design actionable solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — able to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
Solid understanding of logistics principles: transportation modes, warehousing, inventory control, order fulfillment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint); experience with logistics software/ERP systems preferred.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the Pacific Northwest market or familiarity with regional logistics challenges in Seattle/WA.
Experience with technology implementation (TMS/WMS), automation in logistics, or sustainability initiatives within supply chains.
Willingness to travel up to ~30-50% for site visits, workshops, or client meetings.
