The JM Family College Internship Program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. As part of this program, you will actively contribute to your team’s success, learn about JM Family’s companies and culture while obtaining new skills through learning opportunities, networking events, and much more. 

 

The ideal candidate will be available to work full-time during the Summer Internship Program (May 26th, 2026 - July 31st, 2026). 

 

Interns will engage in meaningful work and gain insights into specific projects or tasks, providing hands-on experience and contributing to various department initiatives. They will learn about JM Family’s culture, including our core values: Consideration, Cooperation, Communication, Innovation, and Accountability. These core values are part of our keys to success, and the skills that embody these values are what drive our success as an organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Finance Technology Initiatives: Assist in the evaluation, implementation, and optimization of finance systems (e.g., ERP, EPM, etc.) to improve process efficiency and data accuracy.

  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Gather, clean, and analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, support decision-making, and enhance system reporting capabilities.

  • Process Documentation: Help document end-to-end finance processes, system workflows, and user procedures to support continuous improvement and training initiatives.

  • Testing & User Support: Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and troubleshooting activities to ensure successful deployment of new tools and system enhancements.

  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Partner with Finance, IT, and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities where automation and digital solutions can deliver better business outcomes.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis) required.

  • Exposure to data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) or ERP systems (Oracle, NetSuite, or Workday) preferred.

  • Familiarity with basic data management concepts and ability to learn new financial technologies quickly.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to accuracy and detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly summarize findings and present insights.

  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively across Finance, IT, and Business teams.

  • Curious and proactive learner with a strong desire to understand how finance systems enable business decision-making.

  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • This is a full-time position with flexible working arrangements depending on the business need. 

  • The ideal candidate will be actively enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or other degree- at an accredited college or university, with a focus in Finance, Accounting, Business Admin., Economics, or General Business focus. Candidates in related fields will also be considered. Must have completed at least one semester of coursework.

  • Prior coursework, projects, or internship experience related to corporate finance, data analytics, or information systems is a plus. 

  • Strong academic performance and demonstrated interest in financial systems, digital transformation, or process improvement. 

  • Additional requirements or preferred qualifications may include specific skills or experiences.
