JOB OVERVIEW

Cloud Engineer IV will play a pivotal role in designing, building, and maintaining secure, scalable, and automated Azure cloud infrastructure environments. The candidate will possess deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) as well as CI/CD process and tooling. Specifically, the candidate will be very proficient in working with Terraform, Terragrunt and GutHub, developing and maintaining reusable modules and workflows,

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, resilient, and secure cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, maintaining and deploying all cloud infrastructure via code, leveraging tools like Terraform and Terragrunt as well as other relevant tools and technologies.
  • Lead the adoption and standardization of Infrastructure as Code best practices across teams.
  • Collaborate with architecture, security, platform, product, and DevOps teams to develop cloud-native solutions.
  • Build reusable modules and promote modularity and maintainability in Terraform codebases.
  • Optimize infrastructure cost, performance, and reliability across production and non-production environments.
  • Ensure compliance with security, governance, and operational standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues in preproduction and production environments.
  • Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance and code reviews.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements and automation initiatives.

COMPETENCIES - SKILLS

  • Strong understanding of core Azure services (e.g., Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Application Gateway, VNETs, NSGs, Azure Storage, Azure Monitor, etc).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking, identity management (EntraID), and security practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to lead initiatives independently and work collaboratively across teams.
  • Passion for automation, standardization, and continuous improvement.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 8+ years of experience of hands-on cloud engineering in Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Terraform and Terragrunt, with a proven track record of managing complex, multi-environment IaC deployments.
  • Hands-on experience with GitOps and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, reuseable workflows).
  • Experience with container orchestration (e.g., AKS, Docker) is a plus.

Work Environment: 

Positions Type/Standard Schedule:  This is part-time position working between 10-20 hours per week.

Travel:  This role may require minimal travel.

Physical Demands:  Speak, hear, and see, and be able to use hand and fingers for computer keyboard and phone. Sit or stand for extended periods of time.

Pay Range:

$139,700-$195,600

The base salary range for this position is listed above. This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan which is based on company performance and individual performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience, education, certifications, skill level and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
