Career Opportunities: Pharmacy Technician Trainer (659283)
Reporting to the Pharmacist Training Coordinator, the Pharmacy Technician Trainer is responsible for training new and current employees, maintaining standard operating procedures as well as planning, facilitating and/or implementing educational opportunities for Pharmacy Services. Other administrative responsibilities include maintaining educational materials and compliance records, actively participating in various committees, completing assigned projects, providing ongoing logistical and technical support for departmental educational needs, as well as supporting operational needs of the department as required.
Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalency
Knowledge:
- Of pharmacy work routines, procedures, materials and/or equivalent
- Of pharmaceutical mathematics
- Computer knowledge for data entry of prescriptions
- Of third party plans and how they are processed
- Of drug names (generic and brand)
- Of pharmacy terminology
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail, follows protocols or procedures precisely
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy environment
- Ability to prioritize required tasks
- Ability to interact professionally with customers
- Works within the limits of technical practice; practices self supervision, is a self-starter and uses sound judgement
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Ability to ensure confidentiality of employee/candidate information
- Ability to work with Microsoft Office and other computer software
Required Licensure, Certification, etc.:
- Registration with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy is required upon hire.
- PTCB Certification is required upon hire
Work Experience:
- Five (5) years retail pharmacy technician experience preferred.
Salary Range: Minimum 23.00/hour - Maximum 37.97/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
