REPORTS TO: General Manager of Finance Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
DESCRIPTION: Provide financial and operational analysis in support of KNA, developing the annual budget, monthly reporting, forecasting, variance analysis, and ad hoc analysis. Provide to the executive team with timely and insightful financial information to manage the business analytics and make critical strategic decisions on MC-NA and other key management meetings. All financial reports must be in accordance with US GAAP, J GAAP, and/or IFRS with minimal supervision, which requires an understanding of US GAAP principles mainly in relation to company performance and standards. Must be able to have a complete understanding of financial reports & information for audit activities that are beyond the Financial Analyst level. Acts as primary finance support to headquarters functions .
RESPONSIBILITIES:
FP&A
- Coordinate the production budget with the related areas and all plant locations through Plant Controllers.
- Gather information from headquarters functions as needed to support financial planning & analysis.
- Act as partner to headquarters functions, providing support as needed to include communication of results and regular review of function performance.
- Validate financial impact of projects.
- Regularly monitor risks & opportunities to company performance.
- Consolidate, analyze, and make recommendations on financial data (budget, forecast, result) on a monthly-quarterly-annual basis.
- Analyze annual and quarterly financial statements to extract salient points regarding financial performance and gap versus goals, including business analytics and insights.
- Analyze (manpower, expenses, etc.) and elaborate business analytics and presentation of financial results every month for OMC, MC-NA meeting (all plants and company), PMM meetings. Other meetings/presentations as needed.
- Prepare ad-hoc trend analysis, comparisons, and graphs, as required per management and Kasai Japan. Should also be self-directed at times to assist or drive management decision making, such as to support explanation of identified issues to Management, or to highlight identified areas of risk or opportunities to improve, for example.
- Prepare professional executive-level presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Provide support for external audit requirements including quarterly adjusted trial balances as well annual forecasts 1~3 years.
- Support Mid-Term Plan financial statements.
- Prepare related procedures, policies, business flows, instructions, and forms for Financial-Planning-Analysis functions.
- Drive standardization across all financial inputs to ensure consistency of data in total Company projections.
- Assign and communicate base assumptions (volume, program launch schedule, etc.) to all contributors to use in projections to ensure consistency.
- Develop special analysis and duties per top management assignment, including IT special projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Authorities for an employee are granted utilizing work instructions, policies and procedures, and/or direction provided by management to meet the requirements of the customer
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
EXPERIENCE:
- Prefer at least 5 to 7 years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial analyst areas
- Knowledge of computer-based operations (Microsoft Office Intermediate level, Excel Advanced, and PowerPoint) and associated programs
SKILLS:
- Thorough knowledge of financial and accounting variance calculations
- Must be able to work independently in the absence of supervision
- High ethical behavior in managing confidential financial information
OTHER:
- Must be able to work overtime as required
- Travel may be required (10% of time)
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands:
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
