Job Duties
Performs a variety of more difficult technical and supportive professional engineering tasks for FAST-TRAC and other ITS programs, including, but not limited to:
- Generate traffic signal timings for both SCATS and non-SCATS intersections.
 - Prepare and distribute accurate signal paperwork for field install.
 - Prepare and enter SCATS and CENTRACS data.
 - Monitor traffic in the field or remotely (SCATS, CCTV); make appropriate changes.
 - Coordinate Communication and/or Detection issues.
 - Respond to Cityworks requests / comments.
 - Review and provide comments on consultant signal timing projects.
 - Respond to overtime calls.
 - Functional working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
 - A demonstrated willingness and desire to learn new skills.
 - Must demonstrate strong communication skills (verbal and written)
 - Must have the ability to work within a team environment.
 - Must perform duties in a professional manner to promote a positive image of the Road Commission for Oakland County.
 - Requires a daily schedule that supports RCOC hours of operation.
 - Regular and predictable onsite job attendance.
 
Special Experience/Education
- A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required
 - One (1) year of experience commensurate with the duties described above is preferred.
 - A valid State of Michigan Driver License is required.
