The Assistant Compliance Manager supports the company’s continuous improvement and compliance initiatives under ISO 9001, FSC, Ecovadis, SGP, and OSHA standards. This position assists the Compliance Manager in maintaining regulatory documentation, preparing for audits, tracking corrective actions, and ensuring that company policies and procedures are followed consistently across all departments. This role offers hands-on exposure to quality, safety, and environmental management systems within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001 quality management system.
Assist in preparing and maintaining documentation for FSC, Ecovadis, and SGP certifications.
Help collect and analyze Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and Non-Conformance (NC) reports to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
Work with the Compliance Manager to coordinate Root Cause Analysis and Corrective/Preventive Action (CAPA) activities.
Maintain compliance records, logs, and audit evidence in Navigator and shared systems.
Participate in internal audits and assist in scheduling and preparing departments for external audits.
Help train and coach employees on compliance, safety, and quality procedures.
Support OSHA and environmental programs by maintaining records, scheduling inspections, and tracking metrics.
Assist with maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensuring they are up to date.
Communicate and follow up with department managers to ensure compliance tasks are completed on time.
Prepare customer questionnaires and compliance forms in coordination with multiple departments.
Gather and maintain metrics related to quality, safety, and environmental performance for management review.
Provide administrative and operational support on facility safety programs, vendor tracking, and calibration schedules.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Education/Experience:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Science, Safety, or related field preferred.
1–2 years of experience in quality, compliance, or operations in a manufacturing environment (printing industry experience a plus).
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
Must have excellent computer skills including MS Office (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
Familiarity with ISO 9001, OSHA, or environmental management systems preferred.
Knowledge of OSHA Standards.
Ability to learn new equipment and procedures quickly and easily pass on this knowledge to others.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
This is an Office / Manufacturing environment.
Applicants must use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required by safety policies.
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office / shop floor to access files cabinets, office machinery, etc.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, occasional sitting, lifting, and climbing.
