Job Responsibilities:
- Performs routine testing and evaluation of results. Provides clear documentation, details issues to internal stakeholders
- Enters data in computer and communicates results to internal/external customers. Provides analyses and helps interpret data
- Completes in-depth/self-initiated projects, communicates project results and implements the resulting process improvements
- Mentors colleagues as needed and fills in as needed to support lab team
- Serves as lead person in supervisor’s absence, and/or fills in as needed for other job duties within the department
- Troubleshoots and problem solves issues with QC team and internal teams
- Conducts quality control training for QC Technicians, or cross-training for Production, other lab personnel, etc
- Works with internal teams to improve the manufacturing process, using the tools of process improvement
- May initiate/draft Lab Test Methods (LTMs) procedures/revisions and calibration procedures as directed for new equipment or tests (in S.C.).
- Help setup/maintain a 5S environment in the QC lab
- Create/Improve inventory management within the lab
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- 2 years college level science-related curriculum with a minimum of 5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant materials, and/or the knowledge of the science/chemistry behind them, required.
- Good teamwork and communication skills – both verbal and written, required.
- Supervisory skills, preferred.
- Knowledge of related raw materials, ink systems, production processes, available resources, strongly preferred.
- Thorough knowledge and/or skill in relevant testing techniques, and knowledge of suppliers (if applicable), required.
- Ability to act on experiments/projects, and/or demonstrate process improvements/innovation.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, ratios, formula breakdowns, etc.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to analyze and interpret moderately complex test results required.
- Lab and office experience preferred.
- Computer knowledge/experience with Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, strongly preferred.
