Responsibilities include gathering, coordinating, converting, analyzing, reporting, and interpreting data as well as producing geographic data output.
Job Duties:Coordinates the acquisition of spatial data to a digital usable format with the GIS. Gathers applicable data from data sources for projects. Obtains, processes, and converts geographic data from outside entities. Uses digitizer and scanner to input data. Integrates software to produce analysis output. Performs statistical analysis of data. Oversees acquisition, conversion, and integration of tabular databases with the GIS. Performs spatial analysis of data. Generates reports. Expands GIS data development using ArcInfo and related extensions. Secures data using Global Positioning Unit and processes data for use in a GIS. Produces geographic data output in the form of maps, digital images, and reports. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Geography, Planning, Computer, Business or other Management related field; or six years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
An additional one year related experience is required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have knowledge of ArcInfo,COGO,Grid, TIN, ArcView, Spatial Analyst, 3-D Analyst, geographic coordinate systems and geographic theory. Must be proficient in researching techniques and have the ability to use a digitizer, scanner and to be be able to integrate software.

Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
