The Impact you will have in this role:
The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) is seeking an experienced digital asset and blockchain technology professional at the Associate Director level to join our Internal Audit Department. The Associate Director will play a pivotal role in evaluating risk and control environments for DTCC’s digital asset platforms and emerging services, validating the highest standards of security, compliance, and operational soundness. You will blend technical blockchain expertise, regulatory knowledge, and risk management savvy to independently assess these pioneering initiatives and advise audit leadership on risk mitigation. This is a high-impact individual contributor role, talking to senior business customers and working collaboratively with audit teams across technology, risk, and operations domains.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Demonstrating specialized knowledge of public/private blockchain networks, smart contracts, tokenization, custody and wallet solutions, regulatory landscape, and emerging risks to advise audit planning and testing. Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to audit team members on these topics and help drive effective audit coverage in this domain.
- Work closely with audit teams with the execution of audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting. Completes risk-focused fieldwork on time and within the allocated budget, advising the auditor in charge promptly of issues that arise or when budgets or timelines are at risk. Writes and speaks clearly and concisely and can demonstrate detailed knowledge of that area being audited. Understands and performs root cause analysis for issues; possesses and demonstrates a strong understanding of audit techniques.
- Identifies meaningful issues in which controls are not accurately designed or are not operating effectively. Assesses the risk and control environment for processes within coverage areas. Validates the completion of agreed action plans under the guidance of a supervisor. Understands the financial services industry and risk and control environment for coverage areas and identifies new risks. Works closely with auditees to verify timely progress and completion of agreed action plans
- Demonstrates a strong knowledge of our policies & procedures, particularly work paper documentation standards. Independently prepares work papers that fully comply with IAD policies and procedures. Participates in continuous improvement initiatives. Aligns risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred with Masters or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 8 years of related digital assets and blockchain technology proven experience required.
- Audit and risk management experience is advantageous.
- Certifications related to the candidate’s coverage responsibilities are beneficial, but not required, such as Certified Cryptocurrency Auditor (CCA), Certified in Cybersecurity (CC), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
- Capable of identifying, assessing and advising on risks for large-scale integrated audits, including business processes, IT general controls, and application controls.

The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
