In Germany or Switzerland, we are looking for a
Regional Development Manager
The Regional Development Manager is a key member of the FMC EMEA Development Team, working closely with Regulatory, Portfolio, Product Management, and Global R&D teams. This role oversees field development activities across the region, including product profiling, trials, data analysis, and BAD preparation. It also supports product knowledge transfer for both existing and new products. Additionally, the position leads a small team of Regional Technical Managers, driving people development, strategic execution, and budget management. The ideal candidate combines strong technical, communication, and project management skills with deep expertise in applied biology, crop protection, and the EMEA market.
What you'll do with us:
- Lead field development activities across the EMEA region, including product profiling, trial planning, data analysis, and BAD preparation.
- Ensure alignment of product concepts with market needs through collaboration with regional portfolio teams, agronomists, research institutes, and key influencers.
- Partner with Global and Regional R&D teams to support early-stage projects and product development initiatives.
- Manage and coordinate regional technical development programs, including budget planning, execution, and reporting.
- Supervise and develop a small team of Regional Technical Managers to ensure capability growth and effective project delivery.
- Support regional portfolio strategy by providing technical input and ensuring successful product knowledge transfer across the organization.
Your qualification & attributes:
- MSc degree (or higher) in Agricultural Science, with strong expertise in agronomy, crop protection, and weed biology.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in field development or coordination roles focused on weed control within the EMEA region.
- Demonstrated experience in people management and team development within a technical or R&D environment.
- In-depth knowledge of EPPO standards, BAD writing, and EU regulatory requirements for crop protection products.
- Proven experience managing field development programs, including budgeting, planning, execution, and reporting.
- Solid understanding of crop protection R&D processes, market dynamics, and competitive landscape.
- Familiarity with resistance management programs and collaboration with global/regional R&D and portfolio teams.
- Willingness to travel across the EMEA region (up to 30–40% of the time).
