Overview

Join our team as a Temporary Full-Time Security Guard supporting Patient Watch operations at the University Health Network – West Park Healthcare.
You’ll play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors by monitoring patient activity, responding to incidents, and ensuring a calm and controlled atmosphere within the facility.

This is a meaningful opportunity for professionals with strong observation skills and a passion for public safety, particularly within healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients under observation to ensure safety and compliance with hospital policies.
• Conduct regular patrols of designated areas to prevent incidents or unauthorized activities.
• Provide clear and professional communication to hospital staff, visitors, and patients.
• Respond promptly to calls, alarms, and emergency situations as directed.
• Complete detailed and accurate reports on daily activities and incidents.
• Maintain a strong presence to deter potential safety risks and foster a secure environment.

Requirements

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C certification (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
• Proof of two-dose COVID-19 vaccination
• Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, and a two-step TB skin test
• Fluency in English (oral and written)
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred
• Legally authorized to work in Canada

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in a healthcare or hospital security setting
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
