Staff Research Associate II - Anesthesiology at UCLA Health

Required:  Experience as lab technician / manager. Detailed knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Suite, outlook, iCalendar, Zoom, GraphPadPrism, Adobe Suite. General knowledge of the safe and proper handling and disposal of applicable specimens, material, and equipment. Skills in handling laboratory animals. Skills in handling bio-hazard material. Skills in using the following equipment: autoclave, incubator, pHmeter, lasers, sterataxic apparatus, confocal microscope. Skills in making chemical solution, media reagent, buffer. Skills in ordering lab supplies and equipment. Ability to perform laboratory procedures using applicable equipment techniques. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to use computers and related software applications. Ability to lift, transport, and deliver materials and stock lab supplies and goods. Ability to provide assistance in solving issues. Ability to work independently and follow directions. Ability to maintain and husbandry independently for animal colonies. Preferred:  Knowledge of cellular and molecular biology principles and practices. Skills in screening transgenic mice. Skills in extracting DNA, RNA from tissue. Skills in protein purification, western bolt. Skill in fixating and staining of tissue. Skills in setting up the lab equipment and supplies. Skills in maintaining back up system, database.
