JOB SUMMARY

The Operations Assistant supports the daily operations of the bank location under the direction of the Operations Officer. This position helps supervise staff, ensures efficient branch operations, fosters a positive work environment, and promotes excellent customer service. The Operations Assistant also assists in developing new business and expanding customer relationships.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Performs duties as a Universal Banker with strong knowledge of teller and new account functions.
  • Assists in directing branch operations and customer service activities.
  • Builds and maintains positive customer relationships, promptly resolving issues in a professional manner.
  • Supports compliance with federal and state regulations as well as bank policies and procedures.
  • Communicates operational updates and procedural changes to staff; reviews security policies regularly.
  • Monitors cash limits, conducts teller audits, and oversees daily workflow of teller, new accounts, and customer service staff.
  • Assists the Operations Officer with audit, security, and compliance functions.
  • Reviews and prepares operational reports, including teller cash differences, overdrafts, and audit checklists.
  • Trains, coaches, and motivates team members to meet branch goals and maintain a positive environment.
  • Represents the bank at community and public relations events to enhance visibility and customer engagement.
  • Assists with opening and closing procedures, scheduling, and general facility oversight.
  • Verifies and approves wire transfers and assists with collection and reporting of delinquent accounts.
  • Maintains security controls to minimize risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of customer service experience; 1–3 years in banking, sales, or supervisory roles preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard office equipment.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT & DEMANDS

  • Regular use of standard office equipment (computer, phone, copier, calculator, etc.).
  • Availability during bank hours: Monday–Friday, 7:45 a.m.–6:15 p.m., and Saturdays, 7:45 a.m.–1:15 p.m.
  • Occasional local travel for training or temporary assignments.
  • Requires standing, walking, and light to moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow policies, procedures, and supervisor directions.
