McKenna BMW is looking for an Experienced Service Advisor for our store. This is a great opportunity for a customer-focused, detail-oriented, highly motived individual to join our excellent service department. McKenna BMW is part of the McKenna Motors 9 dealership group which includes the Porsche, BMW, Mini, Volvo, Volkswagen and Subaru brands. Service Advisor Job Duties (include but are not limited to):
- Ascertains automotive problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; conducting inspections; taking test drives; checking vehicle maintenance records; examining service schedules.
- Verifies warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions.
- Develops estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor; calculating customer's payment, including deductibles.
- Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into service database system.
- Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customer's approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns; arranging towing and temporary transportation.
- Maintains automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers' publications.
- Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 1 years Service Advisor experience required
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate in person, over the phone and in writing
- Ability to operate an automobile, including one with manual transmission
- Valid U.S. Driver's license
- Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
- Clean driving record needed
- Applicants must have the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Applicants must be detail-oriented and well organized
- Experience with ADP or similar Dealer Management Systems preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Office applications preferred
- Outstanding customer service skills
Education Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs
- Ability to get in and out of an automobile frequently
- Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, bending, and walking
