- Provide individualized and group tutoring in Science, Math, and/or English Language Arts
- Assist students in understanding and mastering academic material, including reviewing and reinforcing classroom subjects and assisting with homework and assignments.
- Provide clear explanations of subject concepts to reinforce problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Monitor student progress, maintain records, and adjust teaching methods as needed.
- Prepare lesson plans, practice exercises, and learning materials aligned with curriculum standards.
- Communicate regularly with parents and legal guardians about students’ progress.
- Participate in and contribute to team meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Program Manager and Program Director.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in education, English, mathematics, science or related field required. Masters degree preferred.
- Previous experience working in a non-profit or government setting, and experience working with immigrants and refugees who have limited English proficiency, preferred. Fluency in Spanish or Haitian Creole required.
