Job Summary

Under supervision, assist in the coordination and support of the Graphic Arts program; including compiling, developing, evaluating, maintaining, and disseminating educational, vocational, scholarship, and post-graduate planning information and materials related to graphic design and digital media pathways; provide technical assistance to students in the areas of graphic design, desktop publishing, digital printing, and digital media; support instruction and hands-on learning through the operation of industry-standard tools and equipment, including the Xerox Versant press, HP plotters, direct-to-garment (DTG) printers, and various cutting machines; and perform various other related duties as required. This position is categorically funded.

Required Documents

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: •Successful completion of a Guidance Technician Certificated Training Course •Completion of two years of college or equivalent, including or supplemented by coursework in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field •Demonstrated proficiency and/or training in the use of industry-standard design software (Adobe Creative Suite) and digital production equipment such as high-volume digital presses, large-format plotters, DTG printers, and cutting/finishing machines Experience in order management, workflow systems, or print shop operations, preferably with platforms such as PressWise or comparable digital job tracking systems; •Two years of experience involving direct and personal contact responsibilities, such as student support, training, or tutoring, preferably in an educational or arts-related environment, requiring strong technical and human relations skills.

Comments and Other Information

New three-year collective bargaining agreement; Salary schedule beginning 7.1.25 will include a 2% salary schedule increase and a 2% off-schedule payment at year-end pending ratification. 2026–2027: Salary schedule increase of 60% of the statutory funded COLA, plus any funded ongoing augmentations as provided in the State Budget Act; 2% off-schedule payment at year-end pending ratification 2027–2028: Salary schedule increase of 50% of the statutory funded COLA, plus any funded ongoing augmentations as provided in the State Budget Act; 2% off-schedule payment at year-end pending ratification
