Job Description:
Join Altera as a Cloud Devops/Site Reliability Engineer! The Cloud Devops/Site Reliability Engineer designs, develops, validates, and debugs software to enable Altera hardware features and to optimize for cloud, hybrid-cloud, and/or on-prem deployment models. Understands partner software stacks and optimizes full stack software (spanning firmware, drivers, OS, middleware, SDKs, frameworks, algorithms, and applications) as required to enable cloud software. May include the development of reference cloud platform software and improving or enabling customer designs to obtain the greatest value from Altera products within the cloud. May specialize in specific technology domains including data services (ingestion, database, analytics), AI/ML, and open-source development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and maintain containerized solutions using Docker and Kubernetes orchestration
Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation using Helm charts
Implement monitoring and observability solutions using Prometheus and Grafana
Ensure platform scalability, reliability, and performance optimization
Manage infrastructure as code practices and deployment automation
Implement autoscaling and resource optimization for compute-intensive workloads
Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery
Optimize system performance and resource utilization
Manage OCI artifact lifecycle, versioning, and caching strategies
Salary Range
The pay range below is for Bay Area California only. Actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, trainings, etc. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must have a Master's in Computer Science/Engineering or related field with 10+ years of experience in:
Cloud Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with Helm, Prometheus, Grafana, and Kubernetes
Containerization: Advanced Docker skills and deep Kubernetes orchestration knowledge
DevOps: Shell scripting, Makefiles, and infrastructure as code practices
Registry Management: Container registries, artifact storage, and OCI compliance
Performance Optimization: Resource scheduling, autoscaling, and performance tuning
Monitoring & Observability: Production monitoring, alerting, and system reliability
Infrastructure as Code: Helm charts and Kubernetes deployment automation
License Management: Experience with FlexLM and software licensing systems
