As we embrace this digital transformation, we are looking for a Business Intelligence & Reporting Analyst to lead our initiatives in reporting, analytics, and exploring potential AI integrations. In this position you’ll own and maintain datasets in SQL Server, build and publish Power BI reports and dashboards, manage Power BI workspaces/permissions, and deliver insights and tools that help our teams act faster and smarter. You will work closely with our internal programming team that handles the functions and data exports from our ERP—no specific programming experience is required. Primary duties include but are not limited to:
- Own the reporting stack: Maintain curated SQL Server tables/views for analytics; document data definitions and lineage.
- Build useful reports: Design, develop, and support Power BI dashboards/reports for Finance, Operations, Sales, and HR.
- Be the reporting Point-of-Contact: Intake requests, triage, prioritize, and communicate timelines/status with stakeholders.
- Data quality & refreshes: Monitor scheduled refreshes, troubleshoot failures, and ensure data is timely and accurate.
- Workspace administration: Manage Power BI workspaces, datasets, gateways, row-level security, and access controls.
- Self-service enablement: Create certified datasets, templates, and how-tos that enable power users.
- Partner with Programming Team: Align on data export schedules/formats from the ERP; validate and reconcile loads.
- Ad hoc analysis: Run analyses that explain trends (e.g., margins, variances, productivity) and recommend actions.
- Process improvement: Propose changes to make reporting faster, clearer, and more reliable.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 3–5 years in a reporting/BI, data analyst, or similar role (manufacturing or multi-site environment a plus).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, technical, or business-related field.
- Solid SQL skills (CTEs, window functions, performance-aware querying; ability to build views).
- Hands-on Power BI experience: data modeling, DAX, Power Query (M), report design, and workspace management.
- Understanding of dimensional modeling/star schemas and KPI design.
- Comfort working with CSV/flat-file exports and turning them into clean, reliable tables.
- Familiarity with the current AI environment and potential use cases.
- Strong communication: translate business questions into datasets, metrics, and visuals.
- Organized and service-oriented with good judgment on prioritization and trade-offs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SQL Server Agent jobs, SSIS/ETL, or data gateways.
- Familiarity with manufacturing metrics (throughput, OEE, scrap, lead times) and financial KPIs (sales, margin, variance).
- Exposure to HR/time systems (e.g., UKG) and common sales/operations data sources.
What Success Looks Like (6–12 Months)
- Certified, documented datasets for core functions (e.g., sales, inventory, production, labor).
- Reliable refreshes with alerting and quick resolution of failures.
- A clear intake/prioritization process and SLA for report requests.
- Widely adopted dashboards that leadership references in weekly/monthly reviews.
- Fewer ad-hoc data fires because the right data is available, trusted, and easy to use.
