Role Summary

LSEG’s ambition is to be one of the world’s greatest companies and best places to work. To achieve this, we are on a journey of building a world class engineering function supporting our Customer Data Master (CDM) Platform team. The team has embarked on a journey to provide internal teams and platform teams with a fully managed customer data master platform.

The role will take part in the definition of the CDM strategy and execution of the CDM engineering strategy and deliver the technology capability, in line with the Corporate Engineering (CE) strategy which includes evolving our current master data capability.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead a senior engineering team (5 growing to ~10 across Reltio and data integration) to design, build and run the Customer MDM platform as a durable product with clear ownership.

  • Own platform engineering (Reltio preferred): architecture, coding standards, quality, observability and CI/CD with GitLab, Jira and SonarQube, enabling safe, frequent releases.

  • Define reusable integration patterns to onboard customer entities and reference data from authoritative sources (MCP, APIs, events/CDC, batch), with strong data quality, lineage and stewardship workflows.

  • Deliver and evolve real‑time and batch integrations with Salesforce and other onboarding platforms to support the end‑to‑end customer lifecycle; iterate based on user feedback.

  • Build and maintain the Customer 360 capability on MDM, providing a unified customer view for AFC, Marketing, Finance and other consumers; instrument adoption and key data quality metrics.

  • Partner closely with Architecture, CLM, Front End, Service Management and business stakeholders (Customer Data Operations, Sales & Account Management, Marketing, Finance, AFC/Compliance/KYC) and the Product Manager/Owner to align roadmap and requirements.

  • Embed security, privacy and governance by design for regulated contexts and KYC, balancing guardrails with usability for stewards and consumers.

  • Set and uphold SLOs, resilience, business continuity and disaster recovery aligned to Group BCP; manage incidents and root‑cause prevention, using error budgets to guide prioritisation.

  • Manage suppliers and delivery partners with outcome‑based SLAs; protect product quality and delivery velocity.

  • Plan and optimise capacity (blend of FTE, contractors, partners); recruit for critical skills; mentor and develop the team; cultivate cross‑functional ways of working.

  • Provide hands‑on technical leadership—code/design reviews, architectural decisions and agile ceremonies—to maintain flow, quality and incremental delivery.

You’ll bring (Candidate Profile / Key Skills)

  • Proven experience delivering enterprise MDM platforms end‑to‑end (Reltio strongly preferred) with clear product ownership (roadmap, backlog and stakeholder outcomes).

  • Deep integration expertise at scale: MCP, APIs, event streaming/CDC, batch pipelines; data quality frameworks and stewardship; pattern‑based integration design.

  • Practical experience linking MDM with CRM (Salesforce) and ideally ERP/billing to ensure consistent customer data across the estate.

  • Hands‑on engineering leadership: architecture authority, disciplined code reviews and modern CI/CD and Infrastructure‑as‑Code practices that enable rapid, incremental change.

  • Solid grounding in data governance, security, privacy and technical assurance; working knowledge of KYC and Customer‑360 concepts; ability to balance control with usability.

  • Familiarity with toolchains such as GitLab, Jira and SonarQube (or equivalents) and practices like trunk‑based development, feature flags and canary releases.

  • Excellent stakeholder communication across architecture, product, operations and compliance; able to simplify complex topics and facilitate discovery and feedback sessions.

  • Vendor and partner management experience with outcome‑based SLAs and multi‑party delivery.

  • Product‑led mindset focused on customer value, sustainability/TCO, reliability and continuous improvement; comfortable with value slicing and hypothesis‑driven prioritisation.

  • Track record setting SLOs and resilience patterns for data platforms and using error budgets to inform decisions.
