The Role

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated IT Apprentice to join our dynamic team at Langham Hall. This role will provide the successful candidate with hands-on experience across various IT disciplines, including London IT, Global IT, and Cybersecurity whilst they complete their Information Communications Technician (Level 3) Apprenticeship. The apprentice will support the IT department in maintaining and improving our IT systems, ensuring the security and efficiency of our global operations.

Fixed term contract of 18-24 months with opportunities of a permanent role at the end of apprenticeship. Suitable for school leaver. 

Please note that as a regulated firm Langham Hall requires all staff to undertake criminal record and adverse financial background checks as part of its onboarding process. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT equipment and systems;
  • Support the IT team in managing and resolving IT support requests from staff
  • Help maintain the security and integrity of our IT systems by following cybersecurity best practices;
  • Participate in the deployment and management of software applications and updates;
  • Collaborate with the global IT team to support international operations;
  • Document IT processes and procedures for future reference; and
  • Stay updated with the latest IT and cybersecurity trends and technologies.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Good communication and teamwork skills;
  • Reliable, punctual and honest;
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware and software;
  • Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows and macOS;
  • Knowledge of basic networking principles;
  • Awareness of cybersecurity principles and practices;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Desired Technical Knowledge / Skills

Please note that the following skills are not required but would be beneficial:

  • Understanding of cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure)
  • Basic knowledge of scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
  • Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL)
  • Knowledge of virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Experience with cybersecurity tools and techniques

Qualifications and Experience

  • GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths minimum level 4/C;
  • A-Level or equivalent qualification in IT or a related field is preferred;
  • Any IT-related certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft) are advantageous but not required; and
  • Demonstrable interest in IT and technology through personal projects, internships, or coursework.
