Financial Accounting and Control Specialist - 15 Month FTC
Location - We operate a flexible, hybrid working model with the candidate required to travel to our Winchester office up to twice a week.

Leads the execution of key/complex accounting, reporting and financial control policies or processes, improving and delivering accounting, reporting, financial control performance and compliance.
The Role
• Ensures the financial integrity of the business by supporting the implementation of discrete, complex process and policy changes
• Ensures financial governance and compliance with regulatory requirements and internal financial controls
• Responsible for the maintenance of finance data and assess the use for onward reporting and controls
• Owns and is responsible for the preparation of key reports, analysing and summarising financial data, to comply with standards and procedure and contribute to full unit reporting
• Undertakes finance transformation activities and regulatory changes for the unit, ensuring new control procedures operate successfully, and in compliance with local legislative and regulatory requirements
• Identities and reports risk through regular assessment and diligent execution of controls and mitigations, proactively raising any concerns
• Applies accounting principles (and where relevant financial statements) procedures and systems in complex and unique scenarios and demonstrates expertise in one or more functional areas, reviewing own work to make sure it is complete and accurate
• Partners with related teams to provide audit and control testing for the business, assessing results and supporting recommendation of any adjustments to strengthen the compliance against standards and minimise risks
• Implements continuous improvement opportunities to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting, reporting and financial control processes and to resolve data issues impacting productivity and compliance
• Considers risk, regulation and uncertainty in short term decisions and ensures that risks are identified and managed by identifying clear accountabilities and supporting an appropriate risk culture and control environment
• Builds relationships with key stakeholders to provide trusted financial business partnering to functions and/or Finance colleagues
• Supports the delivery of financial planning and reporting processes, ensuring alignment with business priorities and financial objectives

• Substantial experience in accounting, reporting and financial control processes
• Strong experience of delivering accounting, reporting and financial control performance and compliance in a large, complex, organisation
• Fully qualified (or with equivalent experience) in a relevant accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) is advantageous.
