Position Summary
The Custodial Services Site Supervisor oversees the contracted custodial services for a major property or building. This role ensures all contract terms are met effectively and efficiently, staff are properly trained and assigned, and facilities are maintained to a high standard. The Supervisor serves as a liaison with the client and manages daily custodial operations, inspections, inventory, reporting, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities
Operations & Team Management
- Organize and plan custodial work schedules based on square footage and contract specifications.
- Manage daily cleaning operations and team assignments across shifts.
- Supervise, evaluate, motivate, and provide on-the-job training to custodial staff.
- Be available to respond to off-hour facility and staffing emergencies.
Client & Contract Oversight
- Interface regularly with customers’ facilities team; coordinate services and respond to requests.
- Ensure all subcontractors provide services according to contract requirements.
- Report and help resolve any deficiencies in contract performance.
Quality Assurance & Special Projects
- Conduct regular inspections of all spaces to ensure cleaning standards are met.
- Schedule and monitor special cleaning services (e.g., floor stripping, carpet cleaning).
- Create contingency plans for emergencies (e.g., floods, construction, renovations).
Equipment & Inventory
- Inspect custodial equipment regularly; ensure preventive maintenance is performed.
- Maintain inventory records and ensure proper storage and security of supplies.
- Order supplies to maintain prescribed stock levels and reduce waste or pilferage.
Administrative & Reporting
- Track and report contract deliverables, incidents, and special project progress.
- Complete and maintain documentation required by internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with vocational counselors regarding employee performance and development.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate’s degree (A.A.S.) or equivalent required.
- 5+ years of experience in custodial services for public or private organizations.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Technical knowledge of cleaning equipment, materials, and methods.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, ADP Timesaver, and similar systems.
- Must be eligible to pass a government background check.
