POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Accounting Transactions Team Supervisor, this position works as part of the Internal Group Accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and deadline submission of month-end, quarter-end and year-end results are met. This position supports leadership in the development and implementation of standardized Group accounting policies and processes.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Performs recurring monthly tasks and journal entries to assist the Internal Group Accounting team in financial close.
- Prepares monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and account analysis.
- Maintains general ledger accounts with a high degree of accuracy.
- Collaborates with Account Transactions Team Supervisor and Internal Group Accounting Manager to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Supports the Internal Group Accounting leadership in the development and implementation of standardized accounting policies and processes.
- Aids in process standardization and system implementation projects.
- Assists with internal and external audit requests.
- Supports and interacts with various functional groups within Finance and Operations.
Requirements
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Post-secondary education in Business, Accounting, or a combination of related education and experience.
- Prior experience in a finance/accounting function.
- Demonstrated knowledge in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical problem solver with the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Strong MS Excel skills and ability to learn new systems.
- Familiarity with Oracle considered an asset.
- Current enrolment or completion of a professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA) considered an asset.
Up to 5% of travel is required in this position.
