Essential Duties and Responsibilities
In this role you will be:
- Participating in teaching and rehabilitation of the patient.
- Observing, evaluating, recording, and contributing information to aid the RN/GN in the development of the patient plan of care based on age-specific criteria
- Performing sterile technique and principles of asepsis
- Using basic knowledge of IV Line tubing and changes, peripheral site inspection and care (including dressing changes)
- Administering piggyback medications and normal saline flushes
- Utilizing hospital computer system
- Providing patient and family education
- Using nursing knowledge of medical, surgical, and behavioral health nursing to effectively provide direct patient care and observe and document outcomes
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited LPN program
- EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years of outpatient experience preferred
- Current IV skills/Phlebotomy skills required
- LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
- Current license as an LPN in Pennsylvania
- BLS certification required or obtained within 1 month of hire
