As an Application Engineer with AWC you will be individually supporting our sales team by working with customers to understand their applications and discuss how technology can be implemented for improvement. The successful candidate must be innovative, passionate, and resourceful while demonstrating technical skills.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Communicate how to implement technical solutions with AWC’s strategic accounts
  • Size and select pressure relief devices, automated valves, control valves, regulators, solenoids, and process instrumentation
  • Prepare technical proposals around industry standards and best practices
  • Understand and consider the commercial implications of different technical solutions
  • Work with inside and outside sales teams to implement word class technology solutions
  • Teach concepts from the basics of pressure and temperature to complex process control solutions
  • Provide technical support for the following products/technologies: Pressure/Temperature/Level/Flow Measurement; Pressure Management; Flow Control; Instrument Isolation
  • Troubleshoot existing installations to help customers get back up and running
  • Develop Bills-Of-Material based on customer requirements
  • Demonstrate sizing and selection of instruments & valves, and how to configure/start-up
  • Understand customer Process Safety Management programs and make suggestions in accordance to industry standards, ASME code, and API recommendations
  • Document best practices and share with colleagues
  • Establish rapport with strategic customers for technical consultative selling
  • Motivated self-starter with the unique ability to manage a complex schedule

Skills you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred)
  • Experience with engineering pressure relief systems, distributed control systems, or process automation fields
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Competent with calibration equipment and electrical meters
  • Proficient in fluid mechanics
  • Self Confidence and the ability to manage conflict
  • Ability to manage a team to meet multiple deadlines and approvals with strict attention to detail
  • Positive attitude/strong team player
