Home Assist Secure Coordinator | BlueCare | Community Care

  • Employment Status: Full Time - 12 month maximum term contract

  • Location: Bowen, Proserpine & Surrounding Areas

  • Remuneration: $53.55 p/hr + 12% Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging (Increases your take home pay) + Allowances & Travel Reimbursement (KM’s) + Employee discounts

About the role: 

The purpose of this role is to coordinate the delivery of home maintenance and security services that support eligible clients to live safely and independently, through effective assessment, service management, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Lead the initial client assessment process, ensuring interviews are conducted in line with Department of Housing guidelines and that client needs are accurately identified and responded to through appropriate service pathways.

  • Manage client eligibility determinations for subsidised security-related maintenance or devices, ensuring consistent application of program criteria and equitable access to services.

  • Coordinate and monitor service delivery across Home Assist Secure programs, including handyperson work, minor home modifications, home maintenance, and security installations. Ensure services are delivered efficiently, safely, and in alignment with client needs and program guidelines.

  • Engage and manage relationships with tradespeople and contractors, ensuring they are reputable, reliable, and meet service quality standards. Provide oversight of work completed and ensure compliance with safety and program requirements.

  • Develop and maintain referral pathways for clients who are ineligible for Home Assist Secure services or require support beyond the program scope, ensuring seamless connection to appropriate community service providers. · Ensure accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, assessments, services provided, and outcomes, maintaining high standards of recordkeeping and data integrity.

  • Support and mentor handyperson staff, providing training and guidance on communication protocols, documentation standards, and service delivery expectations.

  • Oversee procurement and inventory management, including ordering and accounting for stock, materials, and equipment, ensuring cost-effective and transparent resource use.

  • Contribute to service development and continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance program delivery, respond to emerging client needs, and support strategic growth.

  • Undertake other duties as required or directed, consistent with the scope of the coordinator role and aligned with organisational and program objectives.

Role requirements:  

  • Current Drivers Licence - Essential

    Current First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain ​- Essential

  • Demonstrated experience and technical knowledge relating to the installation, maintenance and repair of home security and equipment ​- Essential

  • Demonstrated high level effective interpersonal and written communication skills, including intermediate computer skills specifically MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) ​- Essential

  • All Blue Care staff must satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies which includes, but not limited to, a Federal Police Check ​- Essential

  • Trade qualification and/or demonstrated trade skills - Highly regarded

  • Experience in not for profit, and/or sector industry - Highly regarded

  • Understanding of the aged care sector, it’s funding models and requisite legislation that governs the sector and the ability to develop and implement appropriate sales strategies for this target market - Highly regarded

  • Previous experience coordinating a multidisciplinary team - Highly regarded
