Job Summary
We’re looking for a sharp, insightful Panelist / Content Creator to join the Atlanta NOW team. This person should be deeply connected to Metro Atlanta’s communities and passionate about local news and the Atlanta music scene, particularly hip hop, with the confidence to bring fresh, informed perspectives to live panel discussions. Beyond being on camera, you’ll play an active role in shaping the show’s voice: pitching stories, producing short-form digital content, and amplifying the real conversations happening across the city. If you love Atlanta, know its culture, and aren’t afraid to speak your mind, Atlanta NOW on HOT 97 wants to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Participate daily in live panel discussions on Atlanta NOW, offering informed, authentic viewpoints on news, culture, and entertainment.
- Contribute editorial insight and express thoughtful opinions with respect and clarity.
- Pitch stories and segment ideas that reflect Atlanta’s diverse voices and real-world issues.
- Write and edit scripts or segment outlines as needed.
- Edit video clips for broadcast and social platforms.
- Create and post content for HOT 97 NOW digital channels and the NOW Local News App.
- Engage directly with viewers and followers to build community relationships and source stories.
- Collaborate with hosts, producers, and fellow panelists to deliver engaging, relevant conversations.
- Attend local events, concerts, and community gatherings as needed.
- Use the NOW Local News App to find and feature authentic, user-generated stories.
Qualifications
- Experience in news, talk, podcasting, or digital opinion media preferred.
- Strong on-camera communication skills and an authentic voice that connects with Atlanta audiences.
- Comfortable sharing editorial opinions.
- Familiarity with video editing tools (Adobe Premiere or similar) a plus.
- Active on social media and experienced in digital audience engagement.
- Deep interest in Metro Atlanta’s communities, music scene, and local culture.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-moving production environment.
- Experience creating short-form or social-first video content.
To Apply
Along with your resume, please include a link to your portfolio or demo reel that shows your on-camera or production experience.
Then, submit two short cell-phone videos:
- In the first, give a neutral, fact-based take on a local issue that impacts the Metro Atlanta community (or an issue related to the Atlanta music scene).
- In the second, share your personal, opinionated take on that same topic.
No need for fancy production, just you on camera.
