We are currently seeking a motivated and experience Mechanical Fitter/Technician to join our small close-knit team in Port Hedland to forge a rewarding and secure career with a reputable company.
You will be responsible for our Workshop Operations which includes specialised equipment service/repair activities, Mine site test/tag/calibration with our specialised mobile van. With proactive planning and coordinator of workshop activities with relevant Branch personnel. Ultimately your challenges will be to produce work of a high quality standard capable of satisfying the requirements of our extensive client base. You will be based at our Port Hedland branch and on occasions will be require working at customer sites across the Pilbara to support our ongoing asset management activities. This role is a dido role, which will ideally suit a candidate residing permanently in Port Hedland.
Requirements
About the role:
· Maintain and repair mechanical machinery and equipment
· Identify defective mechanical components or equipment
· Repair/replacement of faulty components or equipment
· Follow and complete all required reports correctly
· Understand all relevant policies, procedures and legislative obligations
· Identify and report potential safety hazards and take appropriate actions
· Manage the workshiop service and repairs processes in a proactive and efficient manner for our customers with branch team members in order to meet operational and financial business objectives
· Conduct calibrations on a wide range of measurement equipment used in industry
· Maintaining a safe, clean and tidy workshop environment
· Play a key role in the development and expansion of workshop services onto customer sites where appropriate
· Manage the training and development of Apprentices where appropriate.
Typical attributes we see in our ideal candidate:
· Australian Recognised Mechanical Fitter trade certificate ( Cert III or above)
· Minimun 2-3 years industrial experience within mining or other Pilbara industries (or similar)
· Ideally Residing in Port Hedland
· Valid Australian Drivers licence
· Current RTIO, Roy Hill, BHP, FMG site inductions (desirable but not essential)
· Forklift licence (desirable but not essential)
· Flexibility to work on weekends occasionally to meeting operational requirements
· Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical and DAS
· Capable of mentoring, coaching and training Apprentice Fitters
· Minimum of 2 years of broad experience repairing portable, high pressure (700 bar) hydraulic tools and associated specialised equipment
· A proven ability to rebuild and test intricate components of high standards
· Knowledge in diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines and overhauling or repairing mechanical parts
· A high level of attention to detail and ability to multi-task
· Must be able to interpret parts lists and service documents
· Conversant with the use of computer software products eg Excel, word and outlook
· Capable of being trained to perform calibration activities on a wide range of measurement equipment
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Familiar with the application of asset management techniques and processes to manage customer equipment life cycle expectations
· A neat and organized approach to your work
· The ability to work with minimal supervision.
