 The Development Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing American Bible Society’s mission to make the Bible available to every person by providing high-level administrative and donor support. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to life-changing work while supporting a dynamic team of Major Gift Advisors (75%) and assisting with key donor services functions (25%).  The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and finds fulfillment in serving others with excellence. You’ll be trusted to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and deliver seamless support that strengthens relationships with our most valued donors.      
 
 The Development Coordinator will report directly to the Senior Director of Donor Services and Stewardship.

Key Responsibilities: fill in


 Major Gift Advisor Administrative Support (75%)
 

  • Prepare, reconcile, and submit Amex statements and related expense reports in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Print, assemble, and mail donor proposals, reports and presentations with a high level of attention to detail and quality.
  • Manage complex scheduling for Major Gift Advisors, coordinating internal team meetings and external donor engagements (virtual and in-person) across multiple time zones and priorities.
  • Order, track, and maintain office supplies, printed materials, and branded collateral required for Development team.
  • Collaborate with advisors to select, prepare, and mail meaningful, mission-aligned gifts to donors, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of donor-related events, including logistics coordination, RSVP tracking, and follow-up communications.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Development leadership team as needed, including document formatting, agenda preparation, and note-taking.

Donor Services Support (25%)

  • Maintain and update the Ministry Opportunity Fund Development spreadsheet, ensuring all gift documentation is accurate and current. 
  • Collaborate with Finance and Ministry Operations to maintain the Funds Availability Tool for Development, tracking donor gifts and addressing any documentation issues to support timely fund release. 
  • Prepare, personalize, and mail $10,000 donor thank-you letters, ensuring timely delivery and coordination with Major Gift Advisors for follow-up as needed.
  • Coordinate and prepare personal notes and call lists for senior leaders (President & CEO and Chief Development Officer) to facilitate timely donor touchpoints.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor interactions and update gift documentation in Salesforce to support timely acknowledgement of donor gifts. 
     

Qualifications: fill in

  • Education: Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred or related experience
  • Experience: 2-4 years
  • Technical Skills:  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat and experience with a CRM, preferably Salesforce, or a donor management system is a plus. 
  • Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfort working with confidential information and managing multiple deadlines.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional walking and standing are often necessary in carrying out job duties.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds at a time (meeting materials, etc.).
