Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and results-driven Operations Manager to manage the day-to-day operations for Ferno. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, improving performance, and driving strategic initiatives. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, direct, and coordinate daily operations to meet business goals
- Monitor and manage budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics
- Analyze workflow, identify areas for process improvement, and implement operational strategies
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
- Lead, train, and supervise operational staff to ensure a productive and motivated team.
- Work closely with engineering and quality teams to resolve technical issues, improve processes and keep overtime to a minimum
- Implement and monitor lean manufacturing processes and continuous improvement initiatives
- Prepare and present reports on operational performance, KPIs, and other metrics to senior management
- Address and resolve other operational challenges promptly
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Operations Management OR current experience (minimum 3 years) in operations management.
- Current to date leadership role that is managing a team of direct reports (more than 3).
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, CNC operations, and blueprint reading
- Strong knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management
- Preferred previous ISO/FDA experience (including audits)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and project management software
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills:
- Preferred certification with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with ERP systems
- Strong with Microsoft Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel including pivot tables, etc.)
- Strong financial acumen and budgeting experience
Working Conditions:
- Some travel may be required (roughly 5%)
- Manufacturing facility with exposure to machine noise, lubricants and shop floor conditions
- Ability to walk, stand, occasionally lift 75 pounds, and moving heavier carts
