As a Data Governance Specialist, you will be instrumental in establishing and maintaining data governance frameworks that ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance across client organizations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading projects related to the implementation of data governance across enterprise customers.
Responsibilities
· Develop, implement, and maintain data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
· Collaborate with stakeholders to define data ownership, stewardship roles, and accountability structures.
· Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and internal governance frameworks.
· Support metadata management, data lineage tracking, and data cataloging efforts.
· Facilitate data quality assessments and remediation plans.
· Translate business requirements into governance controls and technical specifications.
· Maintain documentation related to data governance processes, definitions, and workflows.
· Educate and advocate for data governance across departments and client teams.
Minimum Requirements
· Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a related field
· 7 years of experience working in a similar role leading data governance initiatives
· Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
· Experience translating business requirements into governance policies and technical specifications.
· Solid understanding of data management principles, including data quality, metadata, and master data.
· Familiarity with data governance tools and platforms (e.g., Purview, Unity Catalog, Collibra, Informatica, Alation).
· Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, or CCPA.
Preferred Qualifications
· Professional experience with compliance requirements in the Asia Pacific region
· Experience in IT consulting or client-facing roles.
· Background in data architecture or data engineering.
· Proficiency in SQL or other data querying languages.
· Certification in data governance or data management (e.g., DAMA, DCAM).
