The Edward Jones Agency is seeking a Senior Copywriter (or rising talent) who blends advanced experience in creative thinking, brand strategy and multi-disciplinary writing skills. You thrive in collaborative environments and specifically in partnership with Art Directors for show-stopping executions, and your career focus has centered around big ideas that inspire action and elevate brands.

Your ideas come to life across channels, whether through national campaigns or precision-crafted one-offs, and your strong headlines and conceptual drive are clearly focused. You can deliver quickly or refine deliberately. You lead, present and advocate for your work, balancing responsibilities working solo or with a team. Your portfolio showcases smart, diverse campaigns and shows range of experience beyond a single industry. You have a sharp eye for detail, a deep respect for strategy and a nuanced command of tone and voice that flexes to reach diverse audiences. You also bring brand + business intuition that influences and allows you to collaborate in ways that make fellow creatives and business-minded stakeholders go “wow!”

What you'll do...
  • Lead end-to-end omnichannel creative strategies for the firm's largest, most complex efforts and brand initiatives
  • Partners with senior firm leaders and matrixed teams to develop and execute strategic messaging, creative communication strategies, campaign concepts, tactical ideation, content execution, client materials and other deliverables that bring our differentiated brand to life
  • Leads strategic messaging direction and/or verbal direction of content and campaigns, in collaboration with other creative and strategic partners; ensures approved strategy and creative direction remains intact throughout project’s lifecycle.
  • Making highly complex issues easily understood — in service of persuading audiences to think, feel or do something — by delivering world-class creative, from strategy all the way through to execution
  • Translating stakeholder needs into creative strategies and experiences that build brand equity
  • Developing creative for different media and tailoring (or generating new) creative to fit channel-specific context
  • Working in a team-based or matrix environment — sometimes with complex, changing dynamics and shifting priorities — to gain stakeholder input/approval and meet deadlines
  • Coaching others to ensure message, creative strategy and brand voice alignment

Position Requirements

What you'll need...
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree
  • 6-10 Years Experience as a Copywriter or Lead Copywriter
  • Deep understanding of channel best practices, including social media, websites, email, direct mail and digital media
  • Experience with the following: Agency Management, Campaign Management and Optimization, Communication/Messaging Strategy, Content Development, Go-to-Market/Integrated Marketing Strategy, Marketing Analytics/Measuring Effectiveness and Omnichannel Management
**Candidates that live within in a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.**


Current INTERNAL home-based associates: While this role is posted as hybrid, if selected and accepted, you may retain your home-based status. Edward Jones intends in good faith to continue offering the role as home-based, though future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work.

Salary Information

Edward Jones' compensation and benefits package includes medical and prescription drug, dental, vision, voluntary benefits (such as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness), short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage. Short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage are provided at no cost to associates. Edward Jones offers a 401k retirement plan, and tax-advantaged accounts: health savings account, and flexible spending account. Edward Jones observes ten paid holidays and provides 15 days of vacation for new associates beginning on January 1 of each year, as well as sick time, personal days, and a paid day for volunteerism.  Associates may be eligible for bonuses and profit sharing.
