Job Title: Texas ACE Program Specialist (Part-Time)

Primary Purpose:
Design, coordinate, oversee and direct programs to encourage college and career readiness and family and parental involvement in the school via real-world experiences and ongoing educational programs to immediate family members and parents/legal guardians of students enrolled in the Texas ACE Program as determined by the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) Grant.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree required
Master’s degree preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to meet the needs of people from various social, educational, and economic backgrounds
Strong organizational and time management skills;
ability to meet deadlines
Strong program, administrative and computer skills
Experience with decision-making in a highly collaborative environment and ability to build effective partnerships with all stakeholders
Experience:
Working knowledge of local youth/family services and organizations
Experience in family support, adult education and/or development of high-quality family programs
Background in education and/or social work preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Oversee professional development, and selection, design and implementation of family engagement activities that increase family literacy and meaningful connections to school-day
- Plan, coordinate, and implement the Family Engagement Program and College Career and Military Readiness standards in a manner consistent with the Texas ACE Guidelines
- Collaborate with ACE Program Director and Site Coordinators to recruit and retain parents of ACE students into the program and provide high-quality, innovative and education-based activities that will increase involvement in their child’s education and learning outcomes.
- Establish and maintain relationships with family members through constant contact, including a variety of mediums such as newsletters, advertisements, phone calls or other means to meet grant requirements.
- Track and maintain family participation data as required by 21st Century Grant; prepare and provide reports as required.
- Organize, facilitate and attend at least one (1) family engagement activity each month per center.
- Plan, coordinate, and provide services and activities that promote workforce awareness, job and or college readiness.
- Establish and maintain relationships with the school CTE director and teachers to provide service learning projects that allow for real-world learning experiences and assistance in the attainment of employment and/or funding for college.
- Assist in developing and implementing enrichment activities based on student interests and needs.
- Coordinate services with work-based education programs within the school and with external agencies/community partners to meet student/family needs.
- Establish community partnerships and/or community engagement that support local needs, grant requirements, and program sustainability.

- Conduct needs assessments and surveys to determine types of activities/programs/workshops to offer.

- Attend all required Texas ACE and Robinson ISD trainings, webinars, conference calls and meetings.
- Ensure a high-quality, safe, and supportive environment for program participants, staff, and partners.
- Be available to work flexible hours to accommodate evening activities and program needs.
School/Community Relations
- Attend and be visible at campus, district, and community functions to support the efforts of students, staff, and patrons.
- Articulate the district’s mission to the community and solicit its support in realizing its mission.
- Demonstrate awareness of school-community needs and initiate activities to meet those needs based on grant.
- Use appropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.
Other Duties:
- Perform other duties as assigned by the ACE Program Director, Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent of Schools.
