Purpose:
This is a hands on position interacting with customers, engineers, site personnel, program managers, etcetera. Time and project manager skills are critical to ensure that APQP activities are completed to program schedules. Additional support for the manufacturing sites in program launch activities will be necessary for smooth transfer between NMI and production.
Essential Functions:
- Active member of core launch teams and provide support for control plan and FMEA development.
- Process walk/reviews/risk mitigation for high risk programs.
- Prototype/first run support including fabrication and assembly support, measuring, inspecting, packaging and shipping.
- Completion of SDS/IDS and other necessary customer documentation. Understand and apply customer visual defect guidelines.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of validation test plans (DV+PV) for program launches (from inception to closure). Development of validation plans for ECIs and other changes.
- Review test plans with appropriate people to ensure that all requirements are agreed upon and understood, including timing.
- Work with Procurement, DEs and SDEs to ensure that all supplier testing responsibilities are communicated, preferably prior to the quoting process.
- Working knowledge of lessons learned and ensure that all concerns are addressed during plan development.
- Obtain customer approval for the validation plans when appropriate.
- Work with validation & NMI core teams to ensure that all testing is completed accurately and on time. Update the plan with the results.
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable customer test requirements for both design and process validation. Work with team to understand, and interpret, ambiguous specifications.
- Develop internal (minimum) test requirements for common products, materials, and processes.
- Assist all departments (OE, R+D, Warranty) in test methodology, statistical analysis and test scheduling.
- Aid in development of materials to advance our manufacturing process. Provide material recommendations based on an understanding of our manufacturing processes and OEM requirements.
- Maintain a working understanding of required regulatory requirements.

Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Material Science or related field with 3 years of experience (preferably in a manufacturing location).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of data analysis methods and statistical quality tools.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Project management skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization including external customers, program managers, engineers, R&D, production associates, etc.
- Working knowledge of Control Plans, FMEAs, APQP and Process Control.
Salary starting rom: $100,152
