Job Summary
The Senior Accountant II is responsible for overseeing and managing all financial and accounting operations for the Company. This role ensures timely and accurate financial reporting, compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards, and effective budgeting and liquidity management. The Senior Accountant II leads the accounting operations team and collaborates closely with other departments to align financial and operational objectives.
The Senior Accountant II will drive the Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, and Order-to-Cash Processes for the Company. This includes leading the Company’s quarterly SEC Reporting, managing the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, documenting standard operating procedures, reviewing transaction records, creating a digital organization system, handling taxes are paid or applied, and ensuring reconciliations (between General Ledger and Subledgers) are completed on a timely basis.
The Senior Accountant II shall be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, gain efficiencies during the month-end close, and coordinate the Company’s responses to the external auditors. A critical member of the finance team, the Senior Accountant II will supervise the Company’s Accounting Staff and ultimately has responsibility for ensuring day-to-day transactions are accounted for in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and SEC Reporting.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Hands on preparation of the 10-K and 10-Q Financial Reports, coordinating with Legal team on the Management Discussion & Analysis, and completing the Disclosure Checklist.
- Review Journal Entries, and maintain Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System, as the one source of truth for recording transaction records. Review Transactions and close the General Ledger on a timely basis.
- Supervise Accounting Staff and provide timely feedback to develop and grow talent on the controllership team.
- Review transaction activity, applying GAAP and SEC Requirements to ensure compliance.
- Oversee the vendor billing and customer collection processes, including the preparation and analysis of AR and AP Aging.
- Manage cost accounting and report variances to production costs, labor, materials, overhead, and fixed assets.
- Lead inventory rollforward process, including physical counts of raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods, and valuation adjustments, as needed.
- Lead the Company’s interactions with auditors.
- Support the FP&A team with data for strategic planning and decision-making. Collaborate with department heads to ensure alignment with financial goals and operational needs.
- Coordinate with Tax Advisor for timely preparation and filing of sales & use tax, property tax, and income tax. Coordinate the filing of 1099s & payroll taxes.
- Utilize FloQast Compliance for documentation of SOX Control Narratives, Policies, and Procedures aligned with the Company’s Risk Control Matrix.
Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA, CMA, or FCA preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in progressive accounting roles
- Leadership and team management experience is required.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting and manufacturing processes is required.
- SEC Reporting Experience with Edgar Next is preferred; familiarity with FloQast is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with process automation, AI Agents, and system implementations is required
- Experience reviewing reconciliations and performing variance analysis is required
- Strong attention to detail, highly organized, strict confidentiality is required
- Excellent user of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is required.
- Proficiency with an ERP system (such as Deskera, Netsuite, Oracle, etc.) is required.
