The Maintenance Manager manages all activities associated with the maintenance department for the facility. They contribute to the success of PepsiCo Beverages Canada by overseeing the preventive maintenance and repair of plant and building equipment to ensure uninterrupted day to day operations. Through troubleshooting, preventive maintenance program management, and P&L management, the Maintenance Manager must ensure operations equipment is in safe and good operating condition and capable of producing quality product. They are responsible for people and team development, motivating the team and ensuring safe and quality performance. Responsibilities include safety, cost efficiency, continuous improvement on processes, and service for an entire business unit across all shifts. The Maintenance Manager will be leading a team consisting of hourly and salaried associates.

- Maintain product quality and sanitation standards
- Prepare and execute departmental budget for staffing, consumables, and major equipment overhauls and new initiatives
- Perform the analysis and identify the maintenance function priorities and goals to deliver the Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
- Ensure efficient maintenance and upkeep of all building, service, and production equipment
- Institute an effective preventative maintenance program to ensure efficient production operations within cost targets
- Consult with manufacturing personnel to determine equipment operating and maintenance needs
- Oversee major projects, construction, and installation activities
- Ensure uninterrupted operation of support facilities (CO2, N2, NH3, boilers) to meet production demands
- Ensure that the maintenance team provides timely support to the production operation and other functions
- Set maintenance team performance standards and align the organization to them
- Coach and provide regular feedback for development of team and improved operations
- Develop staffing and skill building plans to build technical knowledge continuity
- Procure and lead capital projects for efficiency improvements at the facility
- This role requires regular presence on the plant floor
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Preferably in engineering, business, operations management, or similar field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing preferred. Preferably food/beverage experience
- Lean Six Sigma Experience preferred, demonstrated by successful completion of a major improvement project
- Must possess strong skills, knowledge and capability in TPM or lean manufacturing, finance and accounting, project management, leadership, and statistics/logical problem solving
- Solid working knowledge of the following business enterprises: HSE/quality regulatory compliance, processing/packaging/warehouse operations, maintenance and engineering, ingredient and package material procurement, production planning & deployment, sales and marketing, research and development, and excellent communication, facilitation and influence skills
- Experience developing/coaching hourly and supervisory staff preferred
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
- Ability to lead a team-based approach to decision making
- Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to get results through mentoring others
- Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills
