Description
The Lead Production Associate on 2nd Shift is responsible for leading and training team members while ensuring all production activities follow standard operating procedures. This role oversees the safe and efficient operation of production equipment, monitors workflow to maintain productivity, and ensures production and quality standards are consistently met and properly documented throughout the shift. In addition to leadership responsibilities, this position also operates production machinery to support the team and maintain workflow.
Requirements
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain an orderly work area and perform clean-up and housekeeping duties – Adhere to 5S Policy.
- Train new team members on safely operating production equipment.
- Adhere to all safety rules and regulations associated with the machine, position, and as directed by management.
- Produce products in accordance with verbal and written instructions.
- Perform visual quality inspection of parts as they come off the machine or as needed.
- Operate production equipment to produce products that support the production goals as directed.
- Ensure machine is continually loaded with correct component parts.
- Unload, inspect, and stage raw materials, scrap, packaging materials and other supplies.
- Remove finished product from the production area ensuring proper identification and labeling.
- Communicate to management any machine malfunctions or bottlenecks.
- Proper handling of finished pieces.
- Maintain necessary paperwork, recordkeeping, and computer entry of work logs.
- Communicate pertinent information to next shift.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- Proven experience as a machine operator is preferred. On the job training is available for the right candidate.
- Experience in a manufacturing lead role strongly preferred
