McCarthy Building Companies is looking for a skilled Crane Operator for an exciting Water/Wastewater project in Aubrey, TX.In this role, you will operate a variety of cranes (crawlers, friction, hydraulics, RTs, etc.) in commercial, civil, or marine projects. The ideal applicant has extensive years of experience as a crane operator and maneuvers equipment in a safe manner.

 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Safely operate and maintain various construction machinery including cranes, fiction cranes, hydraulic cranes, etc.  
  • Always follow McCarthy’s safety policies and under no circumstances by-pass or deactivate any safety features 
  • Identify and communicate hazards, and danger zones 
  • Perform daily inspections and Monthly Boom Down inspections, bringing all safety issues up to site management 
  • Assist with the creation of critical lift plans 
  • Safely lift and carry loads by using proper equipment 
  • Perform or ensure the 8 hour/shift greasing requirements are completed 
  • Always maintain crane cab and job site clean 
  • Completes Crew Task Hazard Analysis (THA) logs daily 
QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Prior experience operating cranes in commercial, civil, or marine construction projects 
  • Must have all the required certifications and trainings to operate the equipment 
  • Must know and understand crane functions, limits, safety features, and how they will affect the cranes operation 
  • Know and understand all hand signals as per ASME 830.5 
  • Read and understand load charts 
  • Identify and use common construction materials, hand tools, and power/electrical tools  
  • Understand construction terminology 
  • Proven commitment to Safety 
  • Work in an organized manner 
  • Able to work night shifts when needed 
  • Must have reliable transportation to/from the job site 
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions 
  • Must be self-motivated and can work well with others 
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency 
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds 
  • Ability to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces 
  • Minimum age 18+ 
  • Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization
