What You’ll Do

 

The Program Coordinator position works outdoors In public parks managed by Audubon Nature Institute and Is responsible for facilitating community programs, activations, and events in the downtown riverfront parks. Routine job tasks Include responding to Inquires, meeting with potential clients, processing permits, creating and sending confirmations, event orders, and reminders, and supporting and monitoring onsite events day-of. 

 

The position works under the supervision of the Director of Park Operations and may be assigned to work under the direction of the Park Operations Manager or the Event Operations team. The position will support the greater needs of the Park Operations department and will support the general success of the parks as assigned Including proving customer service to all park guests, supporting engagement and education, ensuring the park Is clean and free of trash, and supporting event production and recovery. 

 

Day to Day Responsibilities 

 

  • Serve as a first point on contact with community members responding to inquiries quickly and with excellent customer service.  
  • Coordinate with external partners to provide relevant and engaging programming in the park and for the benefit of the community. 
  • Coordinate the park programming calendar to provide department organization and ensure all parties are aware of and prepared for scheduled activities. Create and distribute weekly event calendars and detailed event orders. 
  • Assist in group activities and special projects as needed.

What We’re Looking For

 

Must Haves:

  • Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills, ability to read and write
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to operate vehicles such as golf carts 
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions 
  • Ability to engage with a diverse audience 
  • Affinity for nature and the outdoors 

 

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Bachelors degree
  • First aid/CPR training 

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Working 100% outdoors in the elements including hot, humid summers and cold, wet winters.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, and climbing of stairs or ladders.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, crouching, twisting, and reaching.
  • Manual dexterity to operate machinery or handle tools.
  • Frequent use of vision and hearing to assess surroundings and job tasks.
