Description

As a key member of the leadership Team, the Independent Living (IL) Program Manager is responsible for working closely with the IL Director to develop the overall program vision and ensure quality programs and employee deliverables. Oversees the IL program's day-to-day operations by providing daily interaction with employees to ensure progress and manages consumer concerns. Ensures IL programs meet all state and federal compliance standards, and the philosophy, mission, goals, and core values of the Independence Center are maintained. Maintains positive relationships with partnering agencies by providing information and representation for The Independence Center. 

  

Essential Responsibilities:

· Collaborate with the Director of Independent Living (IL) to create and implement strategies that align with business objectives, ensuring quality programming and fostering organizational growth.

· Manage daily program operations, including employee supervision, orientation and training of new hires, and ongoing professional development to maintain the highest quality of program services.

· Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members to support their growth and development, while fostering a collaborative culture and maintaining high team morale.

· Maintain a strong understanding of the consumer information database, utilizing data to support staff to ensure quality documentation.

· Oversee the timely approval and processing of administrative tasks such as payroll, mileage, time off requests, and expenses to ensure smooth program operations.

· Assist in the creation and management of the annual Independent Living Division and Departmental budgets, ensuring financial resources are effectively allocated and utilized.

· Cultivate and maintain relationships with state agencies and community partners to advocate for individuals with disabilities and uphold the quality of program services.

· Assist in the completion of program grant writing and ensure compliance by meeting all reporting requirements accurately and on time.

· Participate and engage in any required program, committee or IC meetings with or in place of leadership.

· Develop and maintain a psychologically safe and inclusive work environment that embraces diversity and cross-disability perspectives, ensuring all employees and service users feel valued and supported.

· Ensure the philosophy, mission, and goals of the Independent Living programs are maintained.

  

Education and Experience:

· Three years of leadership/managerial experience.

· Experience working with and supervising people with disabilities preferred.

· Lived experience with a disability preferred.


Travel:

· Local travel to partners, collaborators, and vendors for official IC related business and events may be required.

· Must have a valid driver’s license and car insurance.


Working Conditions:

· Office environment requiring ongoing computer use and extended amount of time sitting or standing.

· Frequently lift, push, pull, up to 10 lbs. 

· Internet access to work remotely if protocols are issued for remote work.
